Although it’s always somewhat sad to see the end of summer on the horizon, there are plenty of food-related reasons to get excited about the upcoming fall season, not the least of which is Thanksgiving weekend.
This week, Strange Fellows Brewing and Rosie’s BBQ and Smokehouse provided Vancouverites with an added cause for anticipation after announcing that the two will be joining forces on October 9 and 10 for a Southern-style, deep fried turkey celebration.
Taking place at the East Vancouver brewery, the two-day Turkey Tailgate will feature Rosie’s BBQ frying up take-home turkey, turducken, country smoked ham, and whole beef brisket meal kits with the option to add a slew of traditional Southern sides, locally-made pumpkin tarts, and libations courtesy of Strange Fellows Brewing.
The Turkey Tailgate itself will also offer visitors a walk-up menu of made-to-order Thanksgiving staples while supplies last, including footlong smoked turkey sandwiches and roast turducken sandwiches.
Rosie’s Thanksgiving meal kits are currently available to pre-order online.
