Following the release of his debut EP in 2016 and a brief break from recording that saw him find success on stage in both Toronto and Broadway, Ontario-based country singer Graham Scott Fleming returned to his small-town roots with a succession of successful singles in 2021.
While each of Fleming’s three latest singles have been met with commercial acclaim, his most recent track, “Better Man” has continued to rise up the charts since its release, while garnering praise from streaming platforms, listeners, and radio personalities alike.
We recently caught up with the multi-talented artist who, despite his status as a rising star within Canada’s country music scene, was excited to share his love for the food and beverage community in his hometown of Elmvale, Ontario.
Breakfast
This would go to The Four Corner Tea Room. Ever since I was a kid, I can remember my grandmother and my aunts bringing me there for their tea or coffee in the morning.
The place itself has been through different owners and names, but one thing that is special about it is that it has never lost its reputation of being the go-to spot in the morning. That is on the new owners' understanding its character and value to our small town!
Lunch
Well, if you ask anyone in my town the answer would be B2’s. It is a pizza place that I have been going to since I was a kid. No matter where my work has taken me, no matter where I travel to, I have not found a pizza that compares in my opinion other than our homemade pizza where we make our own dough (first ingredient is a can of beer for the yeast).
I am looking for contenders though (who wouldn’t want to continue eating pizza to find the best one). With that being said, nothing compares to a home cooked meal. So, when I am home and get spoiled with my mom's spaghetti, or lasagna, or homemade pizza as I mentioned, I am a happy lad.
Dinner
I would have to say my favourite dinner spot would go to Ace Grill. They have really delicious chicken wraps. I wouldn’t say I'm a picky eater, but I might be. I have Crohn's disease so I am unable to eat certain foods, and Ace Grill has so many options that I never have to worry!
Drinks
[My favourite spot for drinks is] Steelers and my go-to drink is a whiskey ginger or a bucket of beers!
