Valentine's Day is just around the corner and if you plan to stay in, you can still celebrate with this cocktail from Odd Society. If you can find fresh sumac, use that. If not, you can head to the spice shop for the best you can find.
You Give Me Fever cocktail
1 1/2 oz. Odd Society Mongrel unaged rye
1 1/2 oz. pear juice
1/2 oz. sumac syrup
1/2 oz. citric acid
2 drops absinthe
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add all ingredients and shake. Double strain into a coupe glass and garnish with a fresh blossom.
Sumac syrup
2 tbsp sumac
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
Bring sumac and water to a boil then add sugar. Stir to dissolve.
Strain once through a fine mesh sieve, then strain once through a coffee filter.
