We love hearing about new cocktail bars opening up across the country and with Negroni Week currently taking place, boozy beverages are particularly top-of-mind. This week, a pop-up cocktail spot called Black Bamboo opened at 1219 Granville Street in Vancouver. The temporary watering hole is a collaborative effort between a local restaurateur and cold-pressed juice producer. Freshly-made juices combined with alcohol? What's not to like?
“We really wanted to create a fun and distinct pop-up experience during the summer, and cold-pressed juice and cocktails is such a natural combination,” says Carissa Campeotto, owner of Commodity Juicery who joined forces with Vancouver restaurateur Peter Girges to bring Black Bamboo to life. “I’m really excited for Vancouver to see what Black Bamboo is all about. The atmosphere is going to be different from nigh-to-night but consistent in its upbeat and fun environment. From downtempo and jazz to funk, disco and even hip-hop, Black Bamboo will aim to evoke a nostalgic feel from the 90s.”
Black Bamboo will operate until September 30th, every Friday and Saturday, from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. If you want to guaranteed seat at the bar, you can make a reservation here.
If you're feeling like more of a homebody, try their recipe for a summery spin on the classic Negroni using frsh starwberry juice, grapefruit bitters and candied ginger. This right here, friends, is the perfect summer sip.
