Traditionally just a combination of apple brandy, orange liqueur and lemon juice, the Apple Cart is all dressed up and fancy in this iteration by Bittered Sling's Lauren Mote, with the addition of Aperol, sherry and crabapple bitters. The result is a more complex cocktail with a hint of ginger and cardamom.
1-1/2 oz. Père Magloire fine calvados
1/2 oz. Aperol Italian aperitif
1/2 oz. Apple Manzana Liqueur
3/4 oz. Fino sherry
3/4 oz. fresh lemon juice
3/4 oz. simple syrup
2 dashes Bittered Sling Zingiber Crabapple Bitters
Shake all ingredients with ice, double strain over fresh ice in a double old-fashioned or Collins glass.
Garnish with a long strip of orange or lemon peel.
