Oliver Osoyoos announces new format for annual Pig Out Festival

One of the Okanagan's most popular signature events takes on a new format for 2020

The Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country’s annual Pig Out Festival will look quite different this year, according to an announcement about the new format, which will allow chefs to continue showcasing their hog roasting skills for guests in a safe and socially-distanced way.

The Pig Out Trail will take groups of 28 or fewer on a progressive pork-themed tasting experience through the region, while adhering to all current COVID-19 health and safety protocols.

There will be various Pig Out Trail routes to choose from, each with four winery stops. Along the way, guests will be treated to a progressive menu of local flavours prepared by Oliver Eats Ltd., and at the third stop, a special guest chef will offer a plated main course before guests head to the last winery for dessert and a final tasting.

“We are excited to bring guests on a journey through our region in a safe and responsible way, sharing experiences from our many award-winning wineries and delicious food from our talented partner chefs”, says Jennifer Busmann, executive director of Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country. “Pig Out will look different this year but we are certain that we will still capture the enduring magic of this annual event that celebrates the best of our region.”

Pig Out Trail participants will also receive a branded six-bottle carrier for purchases along the route, as well as a Pig Out VIP card, which will provide access to extended promotions and offers at other Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country wineries

The Pig Out Trail takes place on Saturday, October 10. Tickets are priced at $69 (adults) and $35 (youth) and can be purchased online. Participating wineries will be revealed on the day of the festival.
