Eating out at an award-winning restaurant is almost always an exciting time, but when a restaurant like Saskatoon’s Primal teams up with a wine purveryor that shares its passion for local and sustainable ingredients, you can bet it’s going to be a memorable dining experience.
Next weekend, Primal and its popular wine-focused offshoot Pop Wine Bar will be doing just that when it welcomes Garneau Block’s Anders Frederik Steen and Anne Bruun Blauert for an experiential seven-course tasting menu with biodynamic wine pairings at Primal, followed by a fun wine list takeover party at Pop Wine Bar.
“Garneau Block is bringing in some wines from the winemakers who did Noma’s wine list, and I will be cooking inspired by Primal, Noma and my garden,” says acclaimed Primal chef and co-owner Christie Peters. “Really interesting flavours, really interesting wine. I have been growing koji and making misos and different ferments that will be highlighted as well.”
Tickets to Primal and Garneau Block’s wine collaboration dinner are priced at $180 per person and include a welcome cocktail, a multi-course dinner, and wine pairings. Tickets to the Garneau Block takeover at Pop Wine Bar are priced at $25 per person and include a welcome wine and snacks.
