A cool new Asian night market is getting set to open in Toronto next month that will bring together an all-star array of Asian-led and owned businesses from across the city under one expansive roof.
Located in the former Annex Food Hall space on Bloor Street West, the 4,000-square-foot Superfresh night market will aim to highlight different geographical regions of Asia along with the diverse cuisine and culture found therein.
The concept for Superfresh was conceived through a collaboration between some of the city’s most reputable hospitality, brand marketing, and product development leaders, including James Lee (Annex Food Hall) and Trevor Lui (BaoBird, Highball Group). Although the concept is definitely food-forward, Lui says the shared space has the potential to be much more.
“We wanted to create a community and cultural hub, not just simply a spot to eat,” says Lui, “By curating an entirely authentic and fully Asian concept, it allows us to celebrate much of the things we hold near and dear to our hearts in creating a unique and inclusive space for locals and tourists to explore.”
In addition to housing food and beverage businesses like Joybird Fried Chicken, Big Beef Bowl, and The Good Goods, Superfresh also plans to feature an assortment of ongoing community programming, including artisan markets, live entertainment, periodic pop-ups, and an Auntie’s Supply superette.
Superfresh is expected to open to the public in early April. The full vendor lineup will likely be revealed later this month. Keep an eye on the Superfresh Instagram page for up-to-date announcements.
