A dynamic new initiative from Sysco Grand Montreal kicked off in Montreal this week that will see a collection of renowned Canadian chefs join forces with 10 of the city’s most beloved eateries for 10 weeks of creative takeout and delivery collaborations.
Functioning in conjunction with Sysco’s Keep Kitchens Open initiative, the goal of #ChefsÀEmporter is to unite and create solidarity among local chefs, while working to promote local restaurants in order to provide a much-need boost to Montreal’s food scene.
It will also mean a lot of delicious and highly unique takeout offerings for Montrealers to discover from a versatile range of culinary influences.
“I love this initiative because it highlights the importance of working together to help our local food scene survive these unprecedented times,” says Thomas Delannoy, CEO of Chefs Canada. “We have award-winning chefs standing shoulder-to-shoulder with family style restaurants, private chefs, and independent restaurants, working toward the common goal of saving the local food scene, for the benefit of all.”
Each participating chef will create one takeout or delivery offering, which will then be featured on the menu of the restaurant they collaborate with for seven days. The first collaboration is currently underway at Café Milano, featuring a unique sandwich creation from acclaimed chef Antonio Park.
Other notable upcoming collaborations include Chocolate Academy’s Nicolas Dutertre and Gentile Pizza Parlour, Foiegwa and Fugazzi’s Marcus Sahou and Spice Bros, Frédéric Dufort of Chez Lionel and Yo Mama’s Burger, and more.
