If you keep abreast of the latest Canadian food news stories or follow our weekly ICYMI, you’ve likely read that while food inflation may have potentially peaked, it isn’t going away anytime soon. That news is especially troubling for Alberta, which reportedly now has the highest food insecurity rate of any Canadian province.
Thankfully for Albertans, the Calgary Produce Marketing Association (CPMA) recently reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring healthy produce is available to everyone and will be holding its 47th Fall Harvest Sale on September 10 and 11.
“The Calgary Produce Marketing Association inspires the community to have fresh fruits and vegetables on their plates with every meal,” says Calgary Produce Marketing Association president T.J. Crafter. “The Fall Harvest Sale is a celebration of the bounty provided by our farmers and producers and encourages families to eat more fresh food.”
In addition to offering affordable produce from across North America, CPMA will also be donating proceeds from the sale to local charities like the Alberta Children’s Hospital foundation and the Community Kitchen Program of Calgary.
This year’s Fall Harvest Sale is taking place at Stampede Park in the BMO Centre. General admission is priced at $10, while two-day passes can be purchased for $15.
